As part of the Kinki region’s local fishery-related export promotion support, we organized a face-to-face business meeting for fishery operators in Vietnam. We facilitated matchmaking between influential local fishery businesses and regional companies, supporting specific negotiations for exporting their main products. As a result, several companies successfully expanded into the Vietnamese market through exports.

Organized by the local government, a business negotiation event was held in Ho Chi Minh City, where five local businesses handling regional specialties met with Vietnamese buyers. Buyers were selected based on the characteristics of the specialties, and the event was conducted in a format where we visited the business premises of each buyer to hold the negotiations directly.

Japanese products are very popular in Vietnam, and there are many products that are not yet available in Vietnam. Therefore, businesses that come to business negotiations from Japan with proper preparation have a high probability of closing the deal, while businesses that are unprepared often miss the opportunity. In this case, the well-prepared business was able to close the deal on the spot.
